Chute Android Release Note

Version 0.3.5 (78)

The first public release of Chute for Android, on Google Play and as an APK from chute.life. It runs the same KLNEKit engine as Chute on macOS, iOS and tvOS, and requires Android 11 or later.

New Features:

• Rule, Direct and Global outbound modes, switchable while the tunnel runs, with all 30 rule types including the logical AND, OR and NOT rules
• Every policy group type — select, url-test, fallback, load-balance, random, relay and ssid — and proxy chains through a policy's underlying proxy or the profile's front proxy
• Shadowsocks, Shadowsocks 2022, ShadowsocksR, VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Hysteria2, TUIC, AnyTLS, ShadowTLS, SSH, SOCKS5, HTTP, HTTPS, WireGuard, AmneziaWG, MASQUE and Tailscale policies
• A structured editor for every section of the configuration and a text editor with syntax highlighting, both checked by the parser the tunnel uses
• Import from a file, a URL, a QR code, a Wi-Fi upload or a remote repository; Clash and sing-box configurations are converted on the way in, and subscriptions open read-only until you make them local
• Per-app routing: choose which installed apps go through the tunnel and which bypass it
• A runtime dashboard with a live throughput chart, per-policy traffic, TCP and UDP tunnel lists that name the matched rule, a DNS view and runtime logs; session history and logs can be filtered and exported, and a remote dashboard shows your other Chute devices
• Network, proxy and route table diagnostics, with TCP and UDP reachability tests
• Android integration: a Quick Settings tile, launcher shortcuts, a home screen widget for a policy group, always-on VPN, start on boot, auto-pause on cellular, start/stop/toggle broadcasts for Tasker and adb, and chute:// links that import a configuration
• Bio Pass: opening the app and editing a configuration ask for biometrics or the device credential
• An HTTP control API and a Web Console; Chute Dashboard on the Mac connects to them over the network or USB
• A guided setup wizard, the manual inside the app and eight interface languages
• Chute Pro — a one-time purchase on Google Play, or a chute.life license on the APK channel — unlocks multiple configurations, adding and switching them while the tunnel runs, configuration copies, local HTTP and SOCKS5 proxy server control, MitM and the Traffic Recorder
